The PR4AmateurRadio Expo - listen or join in

Date : 09 / 04 / 2014

Author : PR4AmateurRadio

The WIA congratulates those able to register a demonstration station for
this weekends Expo to showcase the benefits of modern Amateur Radio.

Coinciding with World Amateur Radio Day, the Expo is on either on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday April 11-13, in parks, other public places and electronic stores.
All radio amateurs are invited to join "CQ Expo" on the air.

We have at least:
The Adelaide Hills ARC, Summerland ARC, Orana and Region ARC, Bundaberg ARC,
Ipswich DRC, Central Queensland ARC Rockhampton, The RadioActives Doncaster,
EMDRC Wheelers Hill, Yarra Valley ARC Ringwood, Shepparton & District ARC
at Shepparton Showgrounds, Robert Broomhead VK3DN Kilsyth, Julie & Joe Gonzales
VK3YSP Oakleigh South, and The Melbourne Electronics Radio Club at Taylors Lakes.

Reluctantly, the Townsville ARC has had to withdraw due to Tropical Cyclone Ita,
but its members send their best wishes for the Expo.
There may be some late registrations too.

WIA President Phil Wait VK2ASD, plus WIA Directors Roger Harrison VK2ZRH,
Fred Swainston VK3DAC, Robert Broomhead VK3DN and others,
will be on air to contact Expo demonstration stations.

Anyone hearing "CQ Expo" from a station can listen and learn, or join in by
inviting those on the microphone, most likely for the first time,
to experience Amateur Radio and consider it.

Also for the Expo and World Amateur Radio Day are the Victorian Amateur Radio
Direction Finding having a public come n' try at Westerfolds Park Templestowe,
and the Radio and Electronics Association of
Southern Tasmania displaying and presenting 630m reception.
