PREDICTIONS FOR 03 Aug 2012 10CM FLUX: 135 / AP: 008
PREDICTIONS FOR 04 Aug 2012 10CM FLUX: 138 / AP: 007

COMMENT: Solar activity has been at eruptive levels during the past 24

hours, featuring two low C flares from NOAA AR 11539 and 11538. C-level

flares are possible within the next 48 hours, with a slight chance for

an M flare.
ACE observed a small shock in the solar wind around 10h UT on August 2,

which is probably the effect of the CME of July 28. Bz went below -10 nT

several times, and solar wind speed increased from about 400 to 500
km/s. A minor geomagnetic storm interval (K Dourbes and NOAA Kp = 5)
resulted between 15h and 18h UT on August 2, preceded and followed by
active periods. Geomagnetic activity had restored to quiet levels (K
Dourbes smaller than 4) by 0h UT on August 3. The geomagnetic field is

expected to remain quiet on August 3, 4 and 5.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 117, BASED ON 14 STATIONS.
