COMMENT: Eleven sunspot groups were reported by Catania today. Catania

sunspot groups 74 (NOAA AR 1499) and 63 (NOAA AR 1494) produced 6
C-class flares in the last 24 hours. We expect more flaring activity at

the C-class level, and possibly also M-class flares. The Earth is still

inside the fast speed stream due to the recurrent coronal hole. Last 10

hours the solar wind speed is fluctuating between 700 and 750 km/s. The

interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) is stable with the magnitude of
about 4 nT. Due to the arrival of the coronal hole high speed stream
geomagnetic conditions were active (K=4 reported by Dourbes and IZMIRAN,

NOAA reported Kp=4) during last 48 hours. We expect quiet to active
geomagnetic conditions in the following hours.
