COMMENT: Solar activity remains low. More C-flares are expected in the

coming days. Two new regions, turning over the east limb, were numbered

AR 1470 and 1471 by NOAA. They currently have a beta and alpha
configuration respectively. Several filament eruptions were observed on

April 28, starting with an eruption in the south-west at 10:45 UT. This

caused a slow CME which was not earth-directed. Another filament
eruption near NOAA AR 1467 (Catania 17) was the source of a CME observed

by SOHO/LASCO around 21:48 UT in the south-east. This CME did have an
earth-directed component. A first estimate of its speed lies around 350

km/s. We may receive a glancing blow from this CME on May 4.
Geomagnetic conditions are currently quiet. Unsettled conditions (k=3)

are possible tomorrow due to coronal hole effects.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 079, BASED ON 03 STATIONS.
