PREDICTIONS FOR 31 Mar 2012 10CM FLUX: 119 / AP: 007

COMMENT: Solar activity has been at eruptive levels during the past 24

hours, with three C-flares, two of which originated in the X-flaring
NOAA AR 11429 which has returned to the East limb. Solar activity is
expected to stay at eruptive levels, with risks of C flares from NOAA AR

11429, 11442, 11438 and 11448. An isolated M flare is possible,
especially from AR 11429.

In the past 24 hours, solar wind speeds as observed by ACE decreased
from about 370 to about 320 km/s, and jumped from about 320 to a plateau

of about 390 km/s around 8h UT on March 30. The IMF has been near 5 nT

during this period. Geomagnetic activity has been quiet (Dourbes K
ranged from 0 to 3; NOAA Kp from 0 to 2) during the past 24 hours. There

is a slight chance for active conditions (K Dourbes = 4) on March 30,
due to the possible arrival of the CME from March 27 (03:12 UT). Quiet

levels are expected for March 31. A small coronal hole north of the
equator is now at the central meridian and could provoke active
geomagnetic conditions in the second part of April 1.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 070, BASED ON 08 STATIONS.
