PREDICTIONS FOR 19 Jan 2012 10CM FLUX: 140 / AP: 003

COMMENT: Catania sunspot groups 20 and 21 (NOAA ARs 1401 and 1402
respectively) have beta-gamma configuration of their photospheric
magnetic field. However, during the past 24 hours their configuration
somewhat stabilized, resulting only in five weak C-class flares. We
expect flaring activity at the C-level, with an M-class flare possible

but unlikely. Several large quiet Sun filaments are approaching the
solar central meridian. If any of them erupts, the resulting CME may be

directed at the Earth. The Earth is currently inside a slow (around 400

km/s) solar wind flow with average (around 5 nT) interplanetary magnetic

field magnitude. We expect quiet geomagnetic conditions.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 083, BASED ON 03 STATIONS.
