PREDICTIONS FOR 31 Oct 2011 10CM FLUX: 122 / AP: 010

COMMENT: The Sun has produced four small C-flares in the last 24 hours.
C-flares are probable within the next 48 hours, with a slight chance for
an M-flare, especially from NOAA regions 11330, 11324 and an unnumbered
region displaying fast flux emergence at about E40N12.
ACE solar wind data indicate that a sector boundary crossing occurred
around 21h UT on October 29. The ACE instruments also observed a small
shock in the solar wind at 08:55 UT on October 30. The solar wind jumped
from 282 to 302 km/s, and the interplanetary magnetic field strength
(IMF) went from 3 to 5 nT. This shock is probably linked to the arrival
of one or more of the CMEs first seen by LASCO C2 around October 26, 10h
UT; October 27, 12h UT; and October 28, 21h UT. Currently, solar wind
speed and the IMF are still rising. Active geomagnetic conditions are
expected on the second half of October 30, with a chance for a minor
geomagnetic storm. Quiet geomagnetic conditions are likely for October
31 and November 1.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 058, BASED ON 10 STATIONS.
