COMMENT: Solar activity is quiet and is expected to remain so. An
interplanetary disturbance with a relatively high magnetic field
magnitude (around 8 nT) has passed the Earth last night. The direction

of the field was fluctuating. Occasionally, the southward component of

the magnetic field reached -8 nT, leading to disturbed geomagnetic
conditions (K=4 reported by Dourbes and NOAA, K=5 by IZMIRAN). The
sector change that occurred around April 30 - May 1 may signify the
upcoming arrival of a fast solar wind flow from low-latitude extensions

of a southern polar coronal hole. The solar wind speed is, however,
still below 500 km/s, and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude
returned to average values (around 5 nT), so we expect quiet geomagnetic

conditions in the coming hours.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 000, BASED ON 14 STATIONS.
