COMMENT: Eleven sunspot groups are repotted by Catania today. Those
with strongest flaring activity during the last 24 hours include Catania

sunspot groups 72 (NOAA AR 1295) and 75 (NOAA AR 1297). They produced
numerous C-class flares, the strongest ones being the C7.8 flare peaking

at 00:19 UT (in the Catania sunspot group 75) and the C4.5 flare peaking

at 02:57 UT (in the Catania sunspot group 72) today. More C-flares are

expected, and the chances for an M-flare are good as well. The Earth is

currently inside the slow (around 400 km/s) solar wind flow with average

(around 4 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. We expect quiet

geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours. Tomorrow we expect the
arrival of an ICME associated to the halo CME on September 13. Minor
storm conditions are expected.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 122, BASED ON 11 STATIONS.
