COMMENT: Catania sunspot group 19 (NOAA AR 1243) is growing. It reached
the beta-gamma configuration of its photospheric magnetic field, and
produced a C1.0 flare peaking at 02:43 UT today. More C-class flares are
possible in this active region. The Earth is currently inside a slow
(around 360 km/s) solar wind flow with average (4-5 nT) interplanetary
magnetic field magnitude. We expect quiet geomagnetic conditions. On
July 9 the geomagnetic situation may become disturbed due to the
possible arrival of the fast solar wind stream from a low-latitude
coronal hole in the northern hemisphere.
