COMMENT: Catania sunspot groups 38 and 41 (NOAA ARs 1106 and 1108
respectively) are unlikely to produce a C-class flare. However, an
active region on the east limb (returning NOAA AR 1105) produced several

C-flares yesterday and today. More C-class flares from this active
region are possible. An interaction region between the slow and fast
solar wind flows arrived at the Earth yesterday evening. The fast flow

originated in the low-latitude coronal hole in the northern solar
hemisphere. Although the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude reached

10 nT, the solar wind speed during this period remained relatively low

(around 450 km/s), so the geomagnetic conditions remained quiet.
Currently the solar wind speed is around 450 km/s, and the
interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is around 4 nT. We thus expect

quiet geomagnetic conditions.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 019, BASED ON 12 STATIONS.
