COMMENT: Solar activity is expected to be mostly quiet. There is a
small chance of C class flare from NOAA AR 1092 and from a new active
region on the east limb (returning AR 1087), which produced a B6.5 flare
on Aug. 4, at 09:20 UT. A small proton enhancement (<5 pfu at 10 MeV)
was observed from Aug. 3rd around 15 UT till Aug. 4 around 6 UT. Radio
observations from Aug. 3rd suggest a source region to the north-west of
AR 1092. Geomagnetic activity is expected to reach active to minor storm
levels either late Aug. 4th or on Aug. 5th due to the arrival of a CME
linked to the polar crown filament eruption of Aug. 1st. Minor storm
conditions were observed at planetary levels during the last 24 hours
from Aug. 3rd 18 UT till Aug. 4th 6 UT. The storm was triggered by the
CME linked to the long duration event of Aug. 1st.
