COMMENT: Active region NOAA0978 (Catania #64) did not grow further over

the last few hours and its weak flaring activity has declined. We thus

predict possible C flares but with less than 50% probability. The Earth

entered a high-speed solar wind stream late yesterday Dec.10. Due to a

temporary Southward rotation of the interplanetary magnetic field, it
induced active to minor storm geomagnetic conditions during a 3-hour
interval. Now, the IMF has declined and the geomagnetic field has become

quiet to unsettled. We expect such unsettled conditions to continue over

one or two days, with possible short active periods.
