- 4th VKCC Annual Get Together

The VKCC VK4 4th Annual Get Together will be happening at the
Ipswich Jets Leagues Club, 15 Downs Street North Ipswich QLD
from Midday Saturday 29th December. There will be a 1pm lunch at the
sumptuous Eighteen Eighty Seven bistro and the event will
run until late.
Accommodation is available closeby for the hard party goers.

Commercial exhibitors are welcome as well as are car boot sales. 
NIL charge for either - turn up and have fun with the most likely 
group to buy high end radio equipment !

- TREC End of Year Function
The Tablelands Radio and Electronics Club advises that the End of Year
function will be happening from 11am Saturday December 8th at the Tolga
Tavern. The famous TREC Trivia Quiz will be on again, ensuring that, along
with the great food, excellent company and good drink you will have a 
brain wracking fun time.

- theTARCinc Annual General Meeting Results
theTARCinc held the 2012 Annual General Meeting at
Rossiter Park Aitkenvale in shady surroundings near Ross River.
The VK4ZZ portable BBQ was set up under one of the shady trees
around 7am with Richard VK4FRJG and Snow VK4ME - the Iron Faraday Cage Chefs
turning out lovely fresh pancakes made to Lex's original recipe modified 
by Rob VK4RB and further modified by Richard VK4FRJG.
Hot beverage making facilities were tended by Gavin VK4ZZ
and a galactic range of condiments where put out by Lyndall VK4ZM.
The meeting got underway from around 8-30am under the shady trees
in the refreshing breeze and the following results were produced.

- TARC Management Meeting this Tuesday
The Management Meeting of the Townsville Amateur Radio Club
Inc happens this Tuesday 4th of December from 7-30pm at the Club Rooms
perched atop the SES HQ Green Street West End.
Make sure you bring along something for the Show and Tell session.
This meeting is when the Ex-Officio positions will be assigned.
Be there to put up your hand for a job. Dont be there and you might get
a job anyway !

happens on Sunday afternoon December 16th from 2-00pm
at the VK4FR DX City.
From 2-30pm the Monster Auction will get underway.
From 4-30pm the BBQ (funded by TARC) will light up.
During cooking the Mystery XMAS Pressie auction will take place
so make sure you bring a suitably wrapped pressie for this fun event.
Bring your eskys full of drink (no glass please), your comfy camp chairs
or picnic blankets for the BBQ, some treasure for the Monster Auction, 
lots of small change for your Monster Auction and Pressie Auction purchases 
and your appetites - 
A call for catering numbers is now underway. Make sure you get your
numbers in to Gavin VK4ZZ otherwise you will go hungry !

- TARC Xmas Lights Tour
Get out your Santa Hats, flashy pins and glad rags and get ready for a 
magical mystery tour of the light fantastic ! 
The famous TARC Xmas Lights Tour is on again, happening Friday evening December 21st.
Its a Drive Yourself Dazzling Spectacular and all mobile shack chariots will need 
to monitor 146.5MHz during the tour to hear instructions from the guide vehicle.
Embarkation point will be outside the VK4FR DX Complex Rangewood, 
departing around 7-30pm.
Some lovers of the polychromatic delights will be there from 6pm having dindins
in the convivial surroundings.
Be sure to pack an esky with plenty of ice-water as the tour will be happening
in a dehydrating climate!
Lights Tour organiser Gavin VK4ZZ is currently plotting a way around the 
City of Townsville (with help from the Powerpuff Girls)
and would like to hear from you if you have any information about special
displays being put on in your neighbourhood or if you have noticed some
outstanding displays about town. Gavin would especially like to know if
you know of any HAMS putting on a light spectacular so their QTH can be
included in the tour.

WICEN Queensland holds a net every Sunday on 7075kHz from 8-30am (2230UTC)
The net calls in regular stations and then invites new stations to call in.
If conditions are poor on 7MHz, net control might move to around 3600kHz
depending on how pliable the net operators are.
