Hi Pete and all,

Just to recap, neither the locos nor the Monitor will ever be raised and
for the same reason; there isn't enough steel holding the rust together
to prevent them crumbling to bits should they be disturbed. By the time
the technology you envision is invented all that will be left are lumps
on the ocean floor.

I don't know exactly how rum is shipped today but you're right about one
thing, there sure are different cuts. None of the liquor sold in the US
can hold a candle to the much higher quality overall and as if the world
hasn't guessed, higher alcohol content of that sold abroad. When it comes
to rum it's much like schnapps and brandy, most is flavored one way or
another which is what gives it a spicy aroma and flavor. Yup, look
closely at Captain Morgan, he has his boot on a barrel of spiced rum.
Just to make life interesting American products are so watered down
they're pathetic but neither standards nor "drink responsibly" warnings
will produce responsible drunks.

All things considered I have little doubt Drake was alone in insisting on
a sober crew, at least when aboard ship in any case. I have severe doubts
that one could get drunk on water treated with rum aboard ship, waste
either and you're dead, remember there was little room aboard for ship's
stores the same as for cargo and crew. Now can we put the baby to bed?
(;->)

Oh dear, you have eyes but cannot see what is right there on your monitor
in front of your face. OK, maybe you didn't get the corruption Leo
Grocery for Leo Gorsey but if you never saw a Bowery Boys or Dead End
Kids movie you've never lived. Leo AKA "Slip" Mahoney was famous for his
butchery of the English language and smacking "Satch" with his hat. Now
what was staring you in the face was both names used in the same
paragraph. (;->) Nope, you didn't have to see the exchange between Slip
and the Warden of the jail about his real name being Ethelbert.

See now? There's another fine kettle of fish you've gotten us into
Stanley, you and your obscure references the audience had to snatch as
they flew by or they'd be lost forever.
