7Q     - Harry, 7Q7HB is back in Malawi for at least a couple of months.  He
         is QRV in his spare time, mostly on  digital  modes  and  CW,  plus
         some SSB "if asked". QSL via G0IAS, direct only. [TNX G0IAS]
9G     - Rob, PA3DEW and Vincent, PA3FQX will be active as 9G1AA from  Ghana
         on 1-20 March. They plan to be QRV mostly on 20 and  15  SSB,  with
         some activity on 40 metres. QSL via PA3ERA, direct or bureau.  [TNX

CT9    - Rosel, DL3KWR and Hardy, DL3KWF will be active  as  CT9/DL3KWR  and
         CT9/DL3KWF from Madeira (AF-014) on 10 March-6 April. They plan  to
         operate mostly CW and on 12, 17 and  30  metres.  Hardy  will  also
         give RTTY and PSK-31 a try. QSL via  home  calls.  E-mail  requests

CY0    - Announced frequencies  for  the  7-15  March  DXpedition  to  Sable
         Island [425DXN 1033] are:
         CW: 1826, 3523, 7023, 10106, 14023, 18072, 21023, 24892, 28023 kHz
         SSB: 3781, 7140, 14190, 18145, 21295, 24945, 28450 kHz
         RTTY: refer to the website
         The  preferred  QSL  route  is  via  the Online QSL Request Service
         available at www.cy0dxpedition.com. Traditional direct requests for
         all callsigns (N0TG/CY0, K8LEE/CY0 and N1SNB/CY0) should be sent to
         N0TG, direct or bureau. All logs will be uploaded  to  LoTW  "after
         the QSL process is near completion".
EL     - Silvano,  I2YSB  and  his  team  (Vinicio  IK2CIO,  Angelo  IK2CKR,
         Marcello IK2DIA and Stefano IK2HKT) will  be  active  from  Liberia
         (callsign TBA) from 31 March to 13 April. They plan to operate  CW,
         SSB and RTTY on 80-10 metres with three stations on  the  HF  bands
         and one dedicated  station  on  6  metres.  QSL  direct  to  I2YSB.
         Further  information,  band/mode  survey  and  Online  QSL  Request
         System can be found at  www.i2ysb.com.  Once  again  Arturo  IK7JWY
         will be the pilot station for the expedition (it will be  possibile
         to    contact    him    through    the    dedicated    forum     at
         www.hamradioweb.org/forums/
FM     - Dim, UT5UGR says he will be  active  as  FM/KL7WA  from  Martinique
         (NA-107) on 2-8 March, including  an  entry  in  the  ARRL  DX  SSB
         Contest as TO7A. QSL via UT5UGR.
HK     - Cody, KC2LSD  will be active as HK3/KC2LSD  from  Bogota,  Colombia
         on 4-16 March. He will operate RTTY, PSK31, CW  and  SSB  on  40-19
         metres. QSL via home call and LoTW. [TNX KC2LSD]
I      - Celebrating the 150th anniversary  of  the  unification  of  Italy,
         special callsign IO4UI will be from 1 March to  30  September.  QSL
         via I4JEE. All of QSOs will  be  confirmed  automatically  via  the
         bureau. [TNX I4JEE]
PJ7    - Massimo, I8NHJ and Pier, W1NA will be active  as  PJ7DX  from  Sint
         Maarten (NA-105) on 2-7 March. Main activity  will  be  during  the
         ARRL DX SSB Contest, with some casual operating mainly  CW  outside
         the ARRL event. QSL direct to I8NHJ. [TNX I8NHJ]
UA     - Look for Andrey, RV0ADW/0 to be active from Sredny Island  (AS-042)
         until 28 February. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.
V3     - Ken, N2ZN will be active as V31AM from  Placencia,  Belize  on  2-8
         March, including an entry in the  ARRL  DX  SSB  Contest.  Activity
         before and after the contest  will  be  mainly  on  CW  or  digital
         modes, with  focus on 30, 17 and 12  metres.  QSL  via  N2ZN.  [TNX

VU4    - A large group of operators from the Amateur Radio Society of  India
         will be active as VU4PB from the Andaman Islands (AS-001) on  15-31
         March. Plans are to have four stations active on 160-10 metres  CW,
         SSB  and  RTTY  from  three  locations  in  Port  Blair.    Further

ZL     - John, 9M6XRO will  be  active  as  ZL/GD3OOK  from  Waiheke  Island
         (OC-201) between on 7-11 March. He will use  wire  antennas  and  a
         linear. QSL via M0URX (see www.m0urx.com) and LoTW. [TNX 9M6XRO]

CQ WW 160-METER CONTEST (SSB) ---> Object of the contest is    for  amateurs
around the world to work as many US States, Canadian provinces and countries
as  possible  on 160 metres SSB (http://cq160.com/rules.htm).  The following

+ SILENT KEYS + "Four Americans - including three Amateur Radio operators  -
who were being held hostage on their yacht by pirates off the coast of  Oman
have been killed. Scott Adam, K9ESO, and his wife Jean, KF6RVB,  along  with
Bob Riggle, KE7IIV, and Phylis Macay  were  on  board  the  S/V  Quest  when
pirates boarded their vessel  on  Friday,  February  18".  Details  on  this

pioneer of amateur radio in Thailand and Vice President of  RAST,  who  lost
his life on 19  February  in  a  motorcycle  accident;  Jean-Jacques  Hiblot
(F5SHE), UK Six Metre Group's founding member Steve Richardson (G4JCC),  Len
Hopkinson (ZL3IE) and South African Maritime Mobile Net's  founder  Alistair
Campbell (ZS5MU).
