CE0Z - Al, LA9SN (www.la9sn.com) will be active as CE0Z/LA9SN from
Robinson Crusoe Island, Juan Fernandez on 10-23 March. He plans to

DL - The city of Essen and the Ruhr have been designated "European
Capital of Culture" for 2010 and three special callsigns (DR2010L,
DR2010O and DR2010N) will be activated through the end of the year
to celebrate that event. All of the QSOs will be confirmed

E7 - Mario, DJ2MX will be part of the E7DX (QSL via E77E) contest team
for the CQ WW 160-Meter CW event. Before and after the contest he

F - Francois, F8DVD will be active as TM7AAW on 13-28 February,
including the 7th Antarctic Activity Week (22-28 February). He will

FO_aus - The German team (DL1AWI, DL3APO and DL5XU) started activity from
Raivavae, Austral Islands [425DXN 976] without essential parts of
their equipment, which were lost in transit. The missing items
(including the antennas, an amplifier and a mast) are being
recovered, but on 21 January they were still waiting for the
antennas to arrive and were still using wires. They have been
granted a special callsign (TX3D), which will be in use from 23

GM - MM0DFV and GM0WRR will be active as MM0DGR/m from the Braehead
Moss National Nature Reserve on 23 January. They will operate CW,

HL_ssh - Lee, DT8A [425DXN 969] tested his R7 antenna on 21 January and
made a few QSOs with stations in Europe, North and South America.
He is stationed at the Korean Antarctic base King Sejong on King
George Island , South Shetlands (AN-010), and hopes to have more

I - Paolo, IK2QPR reports he will be active as IU2ANT on 15-28
February, including the 7th Antarctic Activity Week. He will

J3 - Ulf, DL5AXX will be active as J38XX from Grenada on 10-23
February. He plans to concentrate on the low bands and to
participate in the ARRL DX CW Contest. QSL via home call, direct

J6 - The "Buddies in the Caribbean" DX group, which specializes in 100
watt or low power radios and the Buddipole portable antenna
system, is off again to a new DXpedition. K8EAB, KB9AVO, KC4VG,
N7UN, NE1RD, W3FF, W6HFP, WG0AT and WZ1P will be active from St.
Lucia (NA-108) on 2-10 February. They plan to operate CW, SSB and

J7 - Gaynell, KK4WWW is back to Dominica for a mission trip until 4

KH0 - Mega, JA3EGZ will be active as KH0/JA3EGZ from Saipan (OC-086) on
3-8 February. He plans to concentrate on 40 and 80 metres. [TNX

ON_ant - Karel, OR4TN (ON5TN) has extended his staying in Antarctica
[425DXN 970], and will remain at Princess Elisabeth Station until

PA - PI65RTD and other 17 callsigns with special prefix PA65, PD65 and
PH65 will be aired on bands and modes until 30th April to
celebrate VERON Rotterdam's 65th anniversary. Information on the

SM - Jan, SM3CER and Jorgen, SM3FJF will be active from SI9AM (King
Chulalongkorn Memorial Amateur Radio Society, www.si9am.se) in
Ragunda on 5-6 February. They plan to operate CW and SSB on 80-17

SP - Mariusz, SP5XSL will be active as SP80XSL from 1 February to 30
April to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Polish Amateur

T8 - Mike, JA6EGL and Hiro, JA6KYU will be active as T88SM and T88HS
respectively from Koror Island (OC-009), Palau on 10-16 February.
They plan to operate CW and SSB on 80-10 metres. QSL via home

V3 - Art, NN7A will be active as V31JZ/p from the Turneffe Islands
(NA-123), Belize from 24 February to 3 March. He will be running
100 watts into vertical and wire antennas from a cottage on the
beach. Operation will be mostly CW on 40-17 metres, with some 80
and 160m as well as some SSB on 20 and 15 metres, conditions
permitting. This will be Art's fourth trip to the Turneffe
Islands. Previous trips were in 1996, 1999 and 2000. QSL via home
call, direct or bureau. There will be no on-line logs, and email
contact will not be possible while on the island. [TNX NN7A]
VP2M - Nick, G4FAL will be active as VP2MCC from Montserrat (NA-103) on
10-17 March, including an entry in the RSGB Commonwealth Contest
(13-14 March). The contest is for operators located within the
Commonwealth or British Mandated Territories, so Nick says he
"will be keen to work other stations" outside the BERU event.
Activity is likely to be restricted to 80-10 metres CW, however if
he can organise an aerial for 160m then he may be able to try some
morning greyline contacts with Europe on CW on 15 or 16 March. QSL

W - Members of the Camden County Amateur Radio Society, KB4CC
(www.ccars.org) will be active from Cumberland Island (NA-058)
30-31 January. They plan to operate SSB and CW on 20 and 40

XU - Wim, XU7TZG is active again as XU7KOH from Koh Russei (AS-133)
until around 1 UTC on 25 January. Look for him on 40, 30, 20, 17

YN - Stan/AC8W (YN2WW, QSL via K8DD), Hank/K8DD (YN2DD, QSL via K8DD),
Jim/KB8TXZ (YN2TX, QSL via KB8TXZ) and Lee/N8LJ (YN2LJ, QSL via
K8ESQ) will be active from Nicaragua on 16-25 February, including
a Multi-Single entry in the ARRL DX CW Contest (20-21 February) as
YN2WW. Before and after the contest they will be active on all
bands. In particular, look for YN2DD on 17m CW and RTTY, YN2WW on
30m, YN2LJ on the low bands CW and YN2TX on SSB. [TNX K8DD]

IOTA BASH ---> The sixth annual IOTA Bash will be held on 26-27 March at
the QTH of AD5A, Mike Crownover in Boerne, Texas. The agenda is being
finalized and will include presentations on some of the most recent IOTA
expeditions and a nice social programme. Details will be available on the
IREF website (www.islandradio.org).
LOGS ---> A logsearch for D2CQ is now available at algarvedx.com/logonline.
The QSL manager (CT1IUA) reports that the first 200 direct cards were
posted on 19 January.
MOST WANTED SURVEY ---> The DX Magazine's annual Most Wanted Survey was
conducted in September-October 2009 [425DXN 957]. The top 10 DXCC Entities
are North Korea (P5), Navassa KP1), Marion (ZS8), Bouvet (3Y), Yemen (7O),
Heard (VK0), Crozet (FT5W), Glorioso (FT5G), Amsterdam & St. Paul (FT5Z),
South Sandwich Islands (VP8/S). Give a look at the 100 Most Wanted listing,
which also shows the results of the 2008 survey for comparison, at
www.dxpub.com/dx_news.html. The complete breakdown by continent is
available in the January/February 2010 issue of "The DX Magazine"; a
breakdown by mode as well as a listing for the low bands will be published
in the March/April issue.
Les Nouvelles DX's relevant QSL Gallery (lesnouvellesdx.fr/galerieqsl.php)
has been updated and now includes more than 300 cards for the Top Ten Most
Wanted for the past eight years (2002-09).
MS0INT ---> The web site for the 18-21 June IOTA expedition to Eilean Mor,
Flannan Isles (EU-118) [425DXN 969] is now up and running at
www.ms0int.com/index.php. Five operators (EA1DR, EA2TA, EA3NT, MM0NDX and
SM0MDG)will be active on 80-10 metres CW and SSB with two simultaneous

NOT THE MANAGER ---> Ted, SP4GFG says he no longer is the QSL manager for
9K2/SP4R.
OH8X INVITATION ---> Radio Arcala (www.radioarcala.com), OH8X will host
four or five younger contest types participating as a multi team in the
ARRL DX (CW) Contest (20-21 February). The event will start Thursday
evening on the 18th and finish on Monday the 22nd. SSB/WARC operating will
also be available on those days, including on a limited scale during the
contest weekend. Drop a note and explain your desire as well as your
potential as an operator on a multinational CW team: send your email to
team leader Marius Hauki, LB3HC (mhauki@gmail.com) and he will give you

OPERATOR NEEDED ---> John, VE8EV is about to start planning for an IOTA
trip to the rare Northwest Territories' Inuvik Region East Group (NA-182)
in late April. "While another SSB-only solo operation would be OK", he
says, "I'm thinking it might be fun to bring along a good CW operator.
Ideally the 2nd operator would also be able to coordinate fundraising and
not be afraid of a little winter camping in the Arctic". If you have a

"Joe should have the logs any day now", The Daily DX reports, "and plans to
have QSLs in several weeks". Joe is now handling also the QSL chores for
HH2JR and WP4HSZ.
QSL VK6IOA ---> Alan, VK4AAR says that the QSL cards for the recent IOTA
operation by VK6IOA (OC-211) have arrived from the printer. He hopes to
clear the backlog by this weekend; requests arriving after that will be
attended to within 24 hours, as per Alan's standard policy.
