EY - Philippe, F4EGS will be active as EY8/F4EGS from Dushanbe,
Tajikistan between 26 September and 26 November. He will operate
in his spare time on 40-10 metres SSB, RTTY, PSK et CW, using 100

FO_mar - While Uli/DL2AH (ZK3AH) will remain on Tokelau until around the
end of September, Manfred/DJ7RJ (ZK3MW) went QRT on 18 September.
He is now going to the Marquesas Islands (OC-027), where he should

GM - The Middlesex DX Group (M0MDG) will be active from the Isle of
Arran (EU-123) on 4-10 October as either GB2MDG and (for SOTA

HL - DS1MRF, DS1NPP, DS4NMJ , DS5EVU, DS5LRJ and 6K5TET will be active
as DT0HH/2 from Yonghung Island (AS-105) from around 6 UTC on 3

for the Road Cycling World Championships that are taking place in

October and February 2009. He will operate SSB and some CW on all

P2 - Hugh, K6HFA has had to cancel the IOTA trip to Papua New Guinea
[425DXN 902]. "He is graciously leaving $3,000 (AUD) in the boat
charter fund", Derek (G3KHZ) says. "This means we have a late
opening for one lucky guy who only needs to pay $2,067 (AUD) plus

S7 - Tom, DJ6TF will be active as S79TF from La Digue Island (AF-024),
Seychelles on 2-14 October. He plans to concentrate on 30 metres

SP - Look for Czeslaw, SP2QCR/1 and Witek, SP2MHC/1 to be active from
Uznam Island (EU-129) on 26-28 September. They plan to operate CW

SP - Celebrating the 200th issue of "QTC, The Polish Radio Amateurs'
Journal", three special event stations will be active next month:
HF200Q (1-10 October), HF200T (11-20 October) and HF200C (21-31

T3 - Toshi, JA8BMK was expected to reach Tarawa, Western Kiribati
(T30XX) on 25 September. He should remain there for about 10 days
while waiting for a ship to depart for Central Kiribati (T31XX).
He plans to operate SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31 on 160-6 metres, with
an emphasis on the low bands as well as 12, 17 and 30 metres. QSL

TN - Mao, TN5MM is a new amateur radio operator from Congo. For the
time being he will operate from the QTH of Nicolas, TN5SN (F8FQX),

VE - Special event station VC2ARAM will be active between 3 October and
3 November to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Association of
Amateur Radio Operators in Mauricie, Quebec. QSL via VE2MO. [TNX

VP8_sg - Lars, MM0DWF (www.lars-boehme.de/vp8dif/index.html) will spend
"most of October" at Husvik, South Georgia (AN-007). He expects to

VR - Vincent, F4BKV will be working in Hong Kong until 31 August 2009
at least. He is located in the Wan Chai district of Hong Kong

W - The various facilities of Motorola's amateur radio clubs will host
a special event on 4-5 October to celebrate the 80th anniversary
of the incorporation of Motorola. Expect CW and SSB activity from
K9MOT (Illinois), KM0TO (Illinois), W4MOT (Florida) and WA4MOT
(Florida), as well as from JQ1YVR/1 (Tokyo, Japan). QSL via

ZC4 - Steve, ZC4LI will be doing SOSB 20m in the CQ WW DX RTTY Contest
this weekend. He will be around from the start of the contest, but
as the band does not usually open until around 3 UTC, he will be
on 160m (1840 kHz +/- 10) for either CW or RTTY contacts from 1

for IV3OWC, including Claudio's operations as 9E1C, ST2CF and TL8DPA. QSL

TV, Italy. Gabriele also says that the direct and bureau QSL requests
backlog for his 2008 IOTA activities, as well as for the stations he

YOUNG DXPEDITIONERS ON WILLIS ISLAND ---> Twenty-two applications were
received and the selection has been made. The two young amateur radio
operators who will join the VK9DWX DXpedition to Willis Island are William
Joshua (Josh) Fischer, W4WJF (21 years old) on 6-19 October and Rhynhardt
(Rhy) Louw, ZS6DXB (25 years old) on 15-28 October.
Meanwhile, the preparations are entering the final stage and a four-men
vanguard is flying to Cairns to take care of all necessary work. Further
