OK Ian. I think I built just about everything that could be built hamwise
in my time including several AM rigs, 6 m rigs and rigs for 144 am. I
built my first DSB rig in the 1960s before SSB arrived. Then I built a
phasing type SSB rig followed by a transistorised filter SSB rig in 1970.
A transfer in my work (I won't mention what it was, Warren's frog doesn't
like me to mention it) and I bought commercial then. I still have the old
144 meg AM/CW NBFM rig as a museum piece in here, and I kept also the
home brew xtal filter I built for the filter type SSB rig using FT243
xtals.
Like you I seem to have done everytnng I wanted to do and now I
concentrate on watching for VHF DX for which I still hold some distance
records.

I am not too keen on tech. It was my job for over 30 years. I have built
everything from a Xtal set (aged 7) to a TV set (aged 21) then, later, I
built CB radios, PSUs and a valve 2m rig, together with the AEs to go with
them. Remember Lambda = c/f ? -5% for a practical AE.
A don't pretend to be anywhere near the quality of John G8MNY but his
bulls are just resends now. I have saved some of them for reference.
Let's see who can survive the longest....?
