Travellers on the shuttle soon discover a difference in
travelling from Britain to France(Coquelles), it is in
the main a very simple and easy task to pay your toll
and make your way to the loading bar in England after
the usual security/immigration/customs checks and then
as time draws near make your way onto the shuttle which
gets u to Coquelles in an almost guaranteed 35 minutes.
BUT not from Coquelles to Ashford.

As a long distance driver ive found that the French
need to *milk* you of every cent you havent spent and
they do this by herding all incoming traffic into a
huge car park where you are expected to leave your car
and be milked in the nearby super mall. The french are
bankrupt and they want the British to pay for their
visit to France in as many ways as possible and they
demand that you do this while parked in the car park.
It makes no differencs to them whether you are able
bodied or no!

Over the last 15yrs ive used the shuttle purely because
my wife is not a good sailor and in many wany
travelling from Britain undersea does have its
advantages, true you dont get long to sleep but you can
read a paper or do a crossword then the next 1000 miles
is yours. I normally sleep at the first service area
for about six hours then make my way south at a
controlled 80mph and soon the journey is over and petit
maison en France.

To us Brits Eurotunnel is ONE concern. WRONG! It is
Eurotunnel (British) and Eurotunnel (French) and there
is a major difference between the two. Neither has
direct control over the other, as a disabled driver i
see no reason to get out of us car in Coquelles, the
car is already full of all wine we have purchased in
the supermarkets in France where a litre of red wine
can be had for as little as .73p or .98c i kid you not!
So why the need of extra purchases at Coquelles?

Have been over this with ET (England) but there is nowt
they can do to help. France it seems is France and if
they wish to be dictatorial - it is there right, after
all what has the British ever done for them?

Yeah, i know, but whats a few thousand million lives?

Go out via ET(England) return via P&O(Calais-Dover)
total cost standard rtn 78 quid! They lose you gain.
Only a truly limbless person can understand my gripe.

As an aside are you aware that all the new roads in
France are funded by the British tax payer?
