I4OYU : LE MIE ESPERIENZE NEL MONDO DIGITALE.
L'interesse nell'utilizzo della tastiera per collegare altri OM ha
sempre
attirato la mia attenzione, anche quando ero alle prime esperienze come
radioamatore. Tra i vari modi disponibili una ventina di anni or sono il
Packet in VHF a 1200 baud era la forma piu’ accessibile sia come costi
che
come hardware. Commodore 64 e poi Apple e Tnc PK-88 sono stati i miei
primi strumenti per connettere le BBS ed anche radioamatori. Sulle
colline di Parma operava un ottimo digipeater che " con vari balzi"
permetteva di connettersi a bbs lontane, in citt… era attivala BBS
IK4MGV-8,
inserita nella rete nazionale.
I tempi corrono, i Commodore e gli Apple sono rapidamente sostituiti dai
Pc
286, 386 e 486/4 anche se il protocollo rimaneva sempre l'affidabile
AX25 ora affiancato da accattivanti interfacce grafiche ricche di macro.
Verso la met… degli anni 90 sul monitor utilizzato dal Packet
iniziano a scorrere caratteri spesso incomprensibili: Š l'APRS ! Quasi
frenetica la corsa per trovare , installare e configurare il programma :
la
sera lo schermo lentamente era arredato da tanti label colorati e
centinaia di
messaggi scorrevano a bordo schermo. Nuovi amici si aggiungono alla
mailing list, i digipeaters si moltiplicano e anche I4OYU sale sul Monte
Molinatico per attivare IR4AQ, attualmente fermo in manutenzione. Ormai
la possibilita' di utilizzare applicazioni digitali si susseguono
rapidamente,
cosŤ l'icona del PSK31 (Mixw) compare sul desktop. L'apparato HF, che
ultimamente era stato poco utilizzato, torna rapidamente in primo piano
e il
log si riempie di nominativi lontani. Ormai Š una corsa : D-700, TH-D7,
D-710 compaiono sulla consolle del mio shake, inconsapevoli spettatori
del nuovo protocollo digitale,sulle tracce di ECHOLINK , che in breve
tempo sara' destinato a
trasformare il modo di comunicare dei radioamatori.
D-STAR si presenta con forte personalita',
Oltre alla voce, ora posso trasmettere testi, file ed immaginie dopo
aver sincronizzato
il mio modo di pensare con il protocollo D-STAR, i pacchetti voce e dati
iniziano a
scorrere rapidamente, insensibili ai confini di stato ed alle lingue e
spesso anche all'intensit… del segnale ricevuto.
A IR4AQ sul Monte Molinatico si affianca con una complessit… maggiore la
partecipazione all'attivazione di IQ4GS a Monte del Giogo.
Nella scaffalatura dello shake gli apparati HF scalpitano, il D-STAR li
ha messi
apparentemente in standby, ma il PACTOR ( release II e III ) irrompe
nella
stanza , ora le distanze sono annullate: la HOME BBS puo' essere anche
a
tremila chilometri, la connessione con TA2BBS o UA6ADV avviene con
grande regolarita', il mondo Š sempre piu' piccolo.
Anche in questo caso il primo impatto non Š stato dei piu' amichevoli
ma,
grazie ai consigli di I0BLC, i dubbi si sono rapidamente risolti. Il
PACTOR,
come utilizzato dai radioamatori e svincolato dalle connessioni TCP-IP,
ti
fa nuovamente sentire il brivido che ti attraversa quando ottieni una
connessione a migliaia di chilometri di distanza. Se qualche Om ha nel
cassetto inutilizzato il modem per il PACTOR II o III , spero che
l'attivi al piu' presto per testare collegamenti anche sulle bande
basse.

In queste righe ho desiderato raccontare il mio personale approccio a
questi protocolli definiti "digitali"
E' sufficiente aprire "Multipsk" o "Mixw" od altri software che al
momento non
conosco per toccare con mano quanti altri modi siano stati sviluppati
dai
radioamatori od estratti da sistemi di comunicazione professionali,
magari ora
passati in disuso con l'avvento delle tecnologie satellitari.
Il mio invito, per testare e conoscere altri "modi" diversi da quelli
che ho indicato, e' apertissimo e spero di poter presto aggiungere nuovo
nominativi al mio log.

I4OYU : DIGITAL MODES - EXPERIENCE
The interest in using the keyboard to connect other OM has always
attracted my attention, even when I was the first experience as
amateur radio. Among the various modes available twenty years ago the
Packet VHF 1200 baud was the most 'accessible both as a cost
as hardware. Commodore 64 and later Apple and Tnc PK-88 has been my
first means to connect the BBS, and even ham radio. On
hills of Parma was operating a digital good that "with several jumps"
