The PCL Packet Net is "on the air" most Mondays, at 8pm
Eastern, 7pm Central, 6pm Mountain, 5pm Pacific, US Time.
The net doesnâ€Öt meet on the Mondays where these US Holidays
occur during the week: Easter, Memorial Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Years
Day.
Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, but always interesting.
Friendly hams from all over gather on the net for chuckles,
tips, tricks, and tall tales. The net is done in a
roundtable format, and is dedicated to the memory of K.O.
Higgs, N0KFQ, and his XYL, Billie, KB0WSA, who began The PCL
Net years ago from their QTH in Branson, Missouri. The
available options to connect are as follows (due to poor HF
conditions, youâ€Öre better off using a telnet connection).
For options 3 and 4 below, please contact NS2B for your
username (usually your callsign) and password.
1) Amprnet Network Users: Connect to bbs.ns2b.ampr.org
2) AXIP Network Users: At any AXIP or BPQ32 Packet node,
look for and connect to PACNET.
3) Outpost, Winpack and HyperTerminal Users: Using Telnet
(iptelnet with the Outpost Packet Program is highly
recommended), connect to ns2b.ddns.net -- port 8010.
4) Internet users: Using your favorite web browser, connect
to this address:
http://ns2b.ddns.net:8080/Node/Terminal.html?pcl
Once you enter your username and password, type PCL and
press <ENTER> to join the net.
If you can't make the net that week, please email Bob, NS2B,
at ns2b@arrl.net or ns2b@winlink.org -- or Daryl, N5VLZ, at
n5vlz@arrl.net or n5vlz@winlink.org – and youâ€Öll be
acknowledged as an "early check-in". If you email your
“comments” to Daryl, N5VLZ, your comments will be noted in
the weekly “scribe”. Please email them at least an hour
before the net is to start, to ensure that they are obtained
in time. Heâ€Ös usually Net Control and Scribe, with Bob
(Sysop), as backup. We hope that you can join us on the net
real soon...youâ€Öll be glad you did!!
