Despite the current high rises in fuel, the level of traffic both on
British and French routes do not reflect any abnormality, indeed, quite to
the contrary, having just returned from Foix we found the routes extremely
busy between 2300 and 0430.
As i write we are warned that French lorry drivers are about to block
every route in their country, this has and always will be done with police
collusion, so if you are about to go south to the cote d'azur or the costa
del sol it may pay to travel only between 0000 and 0600. Lorry drivers
only seem to get a kick out of tormenting tourists during daylight:-/
NEVER underestimate the French they do have support from the most unlikely
quarters and they do normally win their demonstrations hands down.
DARLING should abandon all fuel taxation NOW.
