Hello Billie and K.O. and others reading along, and perhaps
sooner or later via some crack in the system going to that
dreaded Internet...
Yes ... It is sad. I found it sad the day, many left for the
Internet, and of course YL @WW had it's beginings that I too
miss and have wonderful memories of ...and always will.
The best part of my morning Billie ...was on-air VHF to the
BBS, and reading the daily diet, as well adding to the coals
out there. I too am sorry that due to the BBSes in Ontario
and their inconsistance operations, and well these presto-auto
stations and Emergency this and that... hangs....drops...jamming
that it is no longer fun.

My first time on packet radio via VE3YRA BBS run so succesful
for so many years...no never a blurp... by Bruce VE3AAY....
There used to be the "Happy Gang" on Packet, and well they were
a group of YLs and OMs, and recipes and all were the order
of the day, as well nancy's 1995 Cookbook on disk ...I still
have.
It all ended, and ...well I tired to keep it going, with a few and
it grew, then it went ....oops..Internet, and stayed there with
many just disappearing for there....for whatever reason...and
as I went there too... I noted from there to Ilink < echolink>
and it grew to something else, leaving packet behind and
abandoned...so ...well given the BBS is hanging...stops...
drops dead.... enough is enough....it is not worth just getting
on and spending a morning of frustration ... and well I am not
an Interneter....I liked the radio...thats the hobby...RADIO
and packet is a part....or was...but not now... NO frustration
NO more mornings trying to be punctural or whatever...cuz
now I can just do something else more enjoyable and leave
Maria to the Internet hobby. That isn't my hobby.
I quit Facebook ... boring dribble. Orkut is full of hackers
and well the only thing left is looking at the news or WX
or a show if I miss something...thats all.... easy stuff
and then the power switch...no emails to answer... no
dedication ...I don't have to be there.
I switch back my VHF radio to 146.520 and enjoy the folks around
the lake, as well HF 80m and terrorize the hummble inhabitants
there.

"Thanks " Billie .... I am happy too .... it frees a lot of time,
and while I check here and there on packet...not to the extent before
and ...well if BAL works...ok...if it doesn't ...who cares....not I.
We can now plan ...where to go from here...If I want to drop it...that
date will arrive...I know now...I will not miss it. I am still
checking and reading.
