Hi Michael

I was pleasantly surprised by your sending of the pickled onion recipe and
also the making of the pickling and all that goes with it.

We down under in Klawer have semi arid land and are dependant on regular
rainfall to water our crops. Fortunately we can also make use of the
canal system.

I stay in the town of Klawer and has a very big piece of soil on the
grounds. I plant all vegetables in season. At the moment the onions are
in,as well as the Green Crown pumpkin. Sweet potato or (Patat) as we
know it also grows quite nice. I Harvested one big Patat meisuring 22cm
from the one side to the other and also 20 cm deep. The rest was 9 smaller
Patats. There will of course be more patats in the ground. Just to dig
it out and replant the (steggie) the stalk back into the ground and wait
and water. Harversted some nice greenbeams tonight that went straight
into the pot for supper.

I also received your last packet message, tnx for that. I have already
made use of some of your recepies and will shortly send some of my own.
Especially glad about the Apple Chutney and also the tomatoe Chutney one.
The majority of the farmers are now busy with the picking of tomatoes as
they are in abundance and really cheap. Likewise for the small onions for
pickling,is also readily available. Most of the ingredients is also
readily available here.

I really enjoy your messages and recipies on Packet. Please keep them
coming. Thank you for all your trouble and best of wishes to you and
yours.

Hi Leon ZS1VIC & Theresa,

I am happy that you like the recipes from my mothers old cooking book.
I am sure the YL@WW bulletin group would like to read of any recipes of
your own that you would like to send on Packet radio.

I work afternoon and evening at a TV studio that has two channels sent out
on satellite to subscribers: "Food TV" and "The Living Channel". So I have
a little time in the morning to check into Packet Radio and type a message
or two.
