>Hello to all!
Hello Sara! What a surprise ... but a welcome sight to see
you back on Packet.... :)
>A few days ago I was having trouble getting connected to
>the BBS but decided to try my old one! It worked! And
>I discovered that he has an archive of all the yl buls
>that I missed when my computer was down.
>So I've been catching up.
So glad to hear your old BBS is still running. Let him
know that I too thank him for hanging in there...as well
collecting the YL archives <g>...
>Enjoyed all the comments on "A cup of Tea!" But wished
>I'd found them sooner as we had a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party"
>last Saturday. It was fun. Only two kinds of tea - an
>English breakfast tea and a herbal blend but the water was
>heated in electric teakettles and poured in the teapots -
>kept the tea servers busy. There was a prize for the most
>unusal hat and another for the most colorful. And a
>reading of "the Mad Hatter's Tea Party" from Alice in
>Wonderland.
Yeah! That was a good exchange...and it even got a new
folder in the Cookbook ...we have a TEA folder now <g>...
Somewhere...someone tried to get a Coffee Cup one going
too...but it didn't generate too much...but like tea
there are ways of making coffee too.
>Our spring has finally arrived - and summer as well - as
>tomorrow is supposed to be 85 to 90 F. So there may be
>flooding along the rivers. Watch for my Garden Report!
>
Same here ...floods...but not those temps you have...and
I have added your garden report to this reply ...so I
can add to yours...

>Hi Peter and all.
Aaaah ... <g> ..a little dig at me this year too <g> ..now
you have me wondering what sort of joke picture my playful
pal Richard is going to send me from Toronto <giggle>...
>The garden is beginning to shape up. I have radishes
>growing in a container on the back deck and sald green in
>another. I finally planted peas a few days ago - my dad
>always planted his on George Washington's birthday - Feb. 22
>so I'm really late but the ground has been so cold - and I'm
>not a cold weather gardener.
As usual Sara..and readers..my Rhubarb is up and growing, and
<giggle> guess what Sara ... I was given a recipe for wine,
so Rhubarb Wine is on my project list.
I still have to clear our fire site there, and weed, and
prune the rasberry bush. I think also we have some leftovers
growing...but then in the passed few days...the "experts"
have called for frost..so we haven't planted.
I can get this garden of ours now up in less then a day.
We are going for Tomatoes this year again. Maria planted
and we enjoyed lettuce last year .. so we'll see after
we get our plants ...but then the rain and chilly nights
have to stop.
>This morning I planted the Scarlet runner beans. The grass
>took over my strawberry patch - I did save a few but they
>don't look very healthy - guess we'll have to buy our
>strawberries this year. They are going to be late because
>of the cold spring.
I have a wire fence...I would like peas...but then the rassberrys
have taken over the fence...and we have critter problems, not
to mention kittys use the garden as a toilet, and then
there is my pal Rusty who chases the kittys..and he does
leave a path of his activites in the garden....Oh well :(
With this frsot warning all the time... and the "experts" wrong
as far as I am concerned...I am going to have to plant.
>Guess I'd better get out and pull some more weeds and plant
>the carrots.

OK ... I will have to ask Maria this morning over breakie
when she wants to tackle the garden, as I am just over replacing
a fence post I thought I would have problems with over the
last time when the neighbour was on about something....anyhow
will again ...this year take those pictures < g>... for all
to see.
"Thank you" Sara... for the double posting...and the great
news. I'm off to make my tea the way we always make it
and kick off the day ...even if raining.
