Hi Geoff and all,
Of course you may join in! Eh, I really wouldn't paint 7 with the same
old Winbloat brush, it's trimmed down to a lean, mean fighting machine.
Lurking in the shadows you've probably already picked up my comments
about 7 Utimate I'm using, I fell in love with 64 bits since I got more
familiar. Sure, the 32 bit version supports Winpack just like XP and its
family, that was what started all the confusion since many assumed 64
bits but now that has been clarified.
Again spot on, many use Linux and Ubuntu is very popular because although
open source isn't bulletproof it's nowhere near as attack prone as the
hacker's dream, Windoze. As a matter of fact my old friend and former
sysop Ray VK2TV swears by it and it's used extensively at Tank FM,
Community Radio in Kempsey, NSW. They have a couple of Windows machines
for editing and production because Cool Edit Pro is so user friendly so
the entire operation is quite versitile.
