Hi Bill and all,
My guru Scott W2SJW solved the problem without resorting to downgrading
to XP when he built this computer from the ground up. The old beast
wouldn't handle virtual machine so he built one that does and installed
XP as a virtual OS that allows me to run my old software. I'm sending
this bull using Winpack on VM over W7 without a hitch. That's not the
only reason I upgraded to a whole new computing system but part of a long
story. I'm sure you guys will find this useful, it pays to keep up with
the times.
As for the USB adapter, we found my old one without a driver and couldn't
locate one so computer control of my scanner has been on hold. Today
he'll be by shortly with a new one, another4 problem solved.
