Trying is the first step towards failure. - Homer Simpson.

Hello to any and all following this thread.

Having spent most of the afternoon trying to get Winpack into my
laptop, running Windoozy 7, and failing miserably, I've now given up
and will stick with it on Winsloth XP Pro SP 3.

I tried the suggestion from Clive ZL4OE without success. I copied
Winpack from my XP machine and made a shortcut to the packet.exe file.
When I tried to run it I got the same message(s) as I did when trying
to install it from the installation .exe file. Namely telling me the
program wasn't compatible with the Wincrap7 operating system and to
look for a 32 or 64 bit version, which I do know doesn't exist.

Oh, and I did try it in ALL the compatible modes I could Clive, so next
  suggestion please!

  Regards and....
