I don't wish to start another parliamentary debate on "missing text in
Winpack" but those who were helpful in sending suggestions (and,yes, I did
try them all with one exception which would have spelled disaster) might
be interested in the following:
The missing text syndrome seems to be occurring only with certain
stations' contributions with one in particular who sends huge bulletins
addressed to SATDIG and AMSAT. I have found that if I do not download this
station's posts the other messages come down normally. If I download his
first, some are OK and some create havoc. The bulletins that cause havoc
seem to be almost all "copy and paste" in the text. If I don't download
his contribution till last the other bulletins download in the normal way
and are all complete.
There were two other infrequent contributors who also had the same
problem. Both were BBSs and probably were also copying and pasting but I
have not been able to confirm that..
The solution. Don't download SATDIG or AMSAT bulletins till last and
everything runs smoothly and texts are complete.
