Indeed Dave. And thanks to that simplicity in all versions of Windows
pre Vista is what enables us programmers to easily write viruses, trojans,
malware, key loggers, drive by installs and all the crudware that makes
XP such a security nightmare.

If you make it easy to install stuff by running everthing with admin rights
then you end up with the nightmare we have now. That's why OSes which
are moderately secure require constant entering of passwords/clicking accept
boxes to make sure that it's you the user installing something and not
some crapware virus you picked up on your travels.

You want easy you get viruses and all the problems they bring. You want safe
then you either accept the user has to do a bit of admin or you dont connect
to anyone else.
