Hi Michael,

I'd already checked the user's configuration in FBB. When I change between
releases of fbb it is only the binaries that are replaced. I went from
7.04s-test to 7.04p, and back to 7.04-test. Before anyone asks, 7.04q and
7.04r had known issues and aren't used.

I've just deleted Winpack completely, including the registry entry, and
I've done a fresh installation including fresh configs in accordance with
the docs. I've checked header layout, created a new bbs.sys, have no
options checked in Mail Options, and so on.

The problem is still there but I noticed that even the text that scrolls
through during downloading of mail, there is some text corruption.

It would be very easy to point the finger at the telnet connection to FBB
at this point in time but why doesn't every telnet users with Winpack have
the problem? Why don't I see any errors with a tenet connection from putty
or the cmd prompt?

If the bulletin list in FBB were corrupted, why aren't TSTHWIN and the
other telnet connections affected. Why is it only bulletins containing
the caret that are affected. FWIW I removed the trailing caret in BBS set
up in Winpack and I've just checked my /.../fbb/lang/english.txt file.

Lots more questions than answers, I'm afraid.

Even though I've been using the current kernel for some months (compiled
by me on 08-03-09) I will boot to an older kernel to see what happens.

If only I had some spare time. AR is very much a background task at the
moment.

Cheers ... Ray vk2tv
