Well, an interesting observation. The last message I sent explaining what
had happened was truncated at the same position as the previous bulletin,
when read in Winpack.

I can read the message ok in the fbb console, and also with TSTHWIN -
there is no truncating in either, but there is in Winpack.

I've just telnetted into the bbs, across the LAN, from both putty and the
Windoze command prompt and, in both cases the message is not truncated.

The BBS prompt hasn't changed since 1996, and it aligns with the setting
in Winpack, as it has always done. The question has to be, what is Winpack
seeing that it doesn't like? I don't have any options ticked in Mail
Options, the same as it's always been.

Bob, there's some hope in all this for your sanity.

The investigation continues. I will roll back to a previous version of
FBB. I've been testing a trial version for F6BVP who is the Linfbb
maintainer. None of the "regular" users of Linfbb on our mailing group use
Telnet and it's just possible there is a "something" that gets up
Winpack's nose, even though FBB "seems" ok. I compiled the current version
on 8th April. Does that fit with your problem timeframe, Bob?

Cheers ... Ray vk2tv
