Hi Bob,

What does the VK2TV BBS send as a prompt line?

My local BBS (callsign ZL1AB) sends the following bit on the end of 'every
prompt line' sent after the end of a bulletin or P type mail or when I
connect:

ZL1AB BBS (H for help) >

So that is what I've told Winpack to look out for & recognise as a BBS
prompt (or end of Bulletin indicator).
Note the BBS sends a bit of other stuff before those characters, but it
changes depending on how many Users are connected at the time. Finding the
characters that never change is the important bit.

What have you got in your Winpack Options, Personal/BBS info, BBS Prompt
box?

If ZL1AB were to send a bulletin that included the line
ZL1AB BBS (H for help) >
in the text of the message I would expect Winpack to think: "that's the
end of this message, there is a BBS prompt for the next command".

So I hope that Ray VK2TV uses text in his bulletins that is different from
the prompt line his BBS sends out every time. Otherwise Winpack cannot
tell the difference.

The possible solution to your VK2TV bulletin reading woes might be to have
a few more characters in your BBS prompt box.
If the VK2TV BBS is a FBB type then the BBS prompt is different if you are
logged in as an eXpert user or not.
That is something that could be experimented with & the Winpack BBS prompt
box info changed to match.

The BBS prompt line is something that can be set in the FBB program.
If the problem is it not being different enough to what is used in
messages, maybe Ray could add something like the
VK2TV (H for help) >
to his current BBS prompt line & it may help you out?
