Following up on Pete G6KUI comments....
I too run Winpack on a home LAN using Telnet mode to another PC.
I find that Compressed upload & Compressed download fails to work, so I
leave those mail options un-ticked. I don't use TPK compatibility mode.
I don't use FBB Unproto mail listing either.
Also the YAPP mode doesn't reliably work over Telnet.
7 Plus however works no problems.
I tested the above using a dial up modem telnet connection over the
internet.
To work to my DOS Xrouter PC, I use the special transparent Telnet port
2323 ( get better results) rather than the standard Telnet port 23.
If you aren't using Xrouter at home then ignore this paragraph.
My PC runs Win2K for an O/S. It worked much the same when I used Win98se
as an O/S.
