You're right - Although I'm still not sure which one looks better!
But does NPF show the quoted text (and hyperlinks for that matter) in a
different colour so that you can easily follow the message trail ?!
I suppose using any character that forms part of the send/receive protocol
is asking for trouble. It took me a while to originally fathom-out where
my problem was but Ted G8NPF was quite quick to sort it.

Agreed. When I initiate a manual BBS session, Sally opens a new window and
does it's thing, disconnects and then closes the window after a few seconds
so I only have a short time to "grab" the window contents if I need to
review it for anything.
I don't run WinPack for my mail (although it is installed) and am having a
hard time thinking what Bob's problem is... Generally, having a message
cut off mid-way is usually a sign that your BBS Prompt setting is not quite
right ;) and WinPack has always stayed in telnet mode if that was the
option I had it on.
I wonder if we can get Bob to post his packet.ini file for us... ?
