Because most new computers come with Vista. You can pay for a "Windows XP
Upgrade" on some machines but 90% of the time you're stuck with Vista.
You may suggest that you simply install your old copy of XP over Vista on
the new machine. Great if you can get XP drivers for the new hardware. Sadly
this is not always the case.
So there's the rub... new computer hardware might not be supported by XP.
