Hi Bob and others

I would just be happy to be able to turn off the *!#** auto sort function
in windows 7 version of "windows explorer".

I am renaming a whole heap (hundreds) of APRS map files and these come in
pairs, the map file and the information file. I downloaded just about all
of Australia in hi res using TAHO and I am now trying to rename them from
the xyzz gg1234 type of file name they come with to the name of the major
city in the map block. When you start, by opening "computer" the map file
and the inf file are next to each other in the listing. I open the map
file, check the town name, and then close the file. I then "rename" the
map file but before I can blink and check that I have spelt it right it's
gone. Auto sorted to some other obscure part of the directory leaving me
to wonder if I spelt the name correct or at least can I now go and rename
the correct inf file which used to be next to it..

I received Windows 7 starter in a laptop I purchased but if the auto sort
can't be sorted it will be back to XP for sure...

                    Regards Tony VK3API
