Hi All,
I've read a few comments on here about what will and what won't work
with Windows 7.

I made a concious decision to buy a new computer with Win7 Home Premium
32 bit version and so far I'm very pleased.

I wanted a "command prompt" that didn't seem readily available, but it
was probably me not looking in the right place !
So I did a search for Command Prompt and it found it, all I then did was
right click on it and then tick "Pin to Taskbar". It's now on my taskbar
whenever I need it.

The next thing I wanted was Telnet. Typing Telnet at the command prompt
just gave an answer that there was no such program or command.
Not to be outdone, I did a search on the internet for "Windows7 telnet"
and the answer came.
Click Start Orb
Select Control Panel
Select Programs and features
Select Turn Windows Features On and Off
Check the Telnet Client checkbox
Click OK.

It seems that a number of features are not enabled by default.

Now all I have to do to connect to Packet Clusters or BBS by telnet is :-
Click on Command Prompt in my taskbar
Then Type :-
telnet gb7nhr.shacknet.nu 7300
and I am instantly connected to GB7NHR DXCluster and have cluster access
wherever I am. ( I am joint sysop of gb7nhr , so I have just used that as
an example ).

You don't need any fancy programs to connect with, to amateur radio dxclusters
and BBS via the internet. All versions of Windows up to 7 have telnet
built into them.

I hope these couple of tips are useful to some on here.
