World Cup 2026 Special Event Stations Take to the Air

Date : 17 / 06 / 2026
Author : World Cup Soccer Event

Amateur radio operators across the United States, Canada and Mexico are celebrating the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a major
on-air special event running from 11 June through to the tournament final on 19 July.
Sixteen host cities are represented by special event stations operating on HF, VHF and UHF using voice, CW and digital modes,
giving amateurs around the world the opportunity to work the stations and collect a unique set of commemorative QSL cards.
The event has been modelled on popular activities such as the 13 Colonies event, with operators using special callsigns
linked to each host city.

The organisers are encouraging amateurs worldwide to join the fun and attempt to contact all sixteen stations during the
tournament period.
The event highlights the international nature of both football and amateur radio, bringing together operators from across
North America and beyond.
Full schedules, operating times and QSL information are available from the official World Cup 2026 Special Event Stations website.
