Greetings Presidents and Secretaries,
You and your club members who are members of the WIA
are no doubt in receipt of the latest issue of our
Amateur Radio magazine for March 2013.
Enclosed with it are two envelopes and a ballot paper
for use by WIA Members to nominate their preferred
candidate or candidates for the WIA Board.
While I am indicated as a 'Retiring Director' I am seeking
re-election to the Board of the WIA.
The term 'Retiring Director' indicates I have completed
my current term of appointment.
On perusal of the list of candidates it is apparent that,
other than me, there is no other VK4 who has nominated as a
candidate for this election. Without representation from VK4
there is potential for a devisive atmosphere to develop where
the WIA is seen to be southern-centric and in particular
Victorian-centric. Over the past few years the WIA Board
has strived to dispel this misconception and most states are
represented on the Board or have key advisors to the Board
via the Advisory Committees and specialists in their fields.
However, it is for you and your membership to individually
consider the merit or otherwise of VK4 having a voice at a
national level on the WIA Board through me and ballot
accordingly.
Therefore, I request dissemination of the contents of this
bulletin and the encouragement of your members to seriously
consider their choice or choices of candidates on the ballot
paper, mark the paper in accordance with the instructions
and return the ballot paper (post free) to the WIA.
Please note the ballot papers MUST be received at the WIA
National Office by 4p.m. on 29 March 2013.
Yours in Amateur Radio,
Ewan
