News from the Gympie Communications & Electronics Group.

The Gympie EasyPal Digital and SSTV VHF Repeater system is now complete.
This gives the region an independent radio link that can receive, store
and forward on text, pictures and data files of any type without support
from the Internet. The final step of the project was to connect it to the
Internet which allows pictures received by the repeater to automatically
upload to the SSTV page on the Club's website. It also enables the
repeater to automatically download the latest local weather forecast,
charts and animated Gympie weather radar picture from the BOM. These can
all be called up for on-air replay via the repeater directory listing on 2
metres. The repeater's call-sign is VK4ZY and the frequency is 145.625
Mhz. Join us there for some fun pictures and discussion on Monday nights
right after the GCEG club Net which is held at 7.30pm on 146.725 mhz.

APRS in the Gympie region is also functioning again with a digipeater
VK4BNQ-1 filling some of the gaps between the Sunshine Coast and
Maryborough. It has good coverage of the local Gympie region and will
remain in operation until the main digipeater is running once again on Mt.
 Corella.

The group also held its AGM recently with the preveious committee of Bob
VK4MR, Barry VK4KKN and Greg VK4FGDW being voted in for a second term.

The Gympie Communications and Electronics Group, Inc. holds its weekly net
 at 7.30 p.m. each Monday on VK4RCM, 146.725MHz.
