Forecast Discussion
Low pressure passing south of the state will slowly make its way towards east then north towards Nova Scotia over the course of the day into the night. This will continue snow through the better part of the day but as the low departs this afternoon, showers will begin to taper off. As the low passes, winds will shift to a northwesterly flow which will continue into tomorrow. This pattern will bring a chance of upslope snow showers for the overnight which will be further enhanced tomorrow as a weak trough of low pressure drops in from the north. The pressure gradient remains fairly isobaric until tomorrow when a stronger low passes to the south increasing the gradient and increasing winds over the course of the day. The exact path of this low is still a bit undecided so winds may be have to be adjusted higher tomorrow afternoon if this low deepens and tracks further northeast. So keep this in minds if heading out tomorrow. As the low departs and the northwest flow sets up, temperatures will begin to drop. Although winds will be mixing with lowering temperatures, wind chills remain above advisory criteria. Wind chills today will be 0-10 above then drop to 0-10 below overnight and falling further to 10-20 below by tomorrow afternoon.
