CYQX 170531 Marine weather statement for Newfoundland issued by
Environment Canada at 3:01 A.M. NDT Tuesday 17 March 2009. Strong to
gale force northwesterlies will persist over the Belle Isle Bank and
Funk Island Bank today as a trough of low pressure remains stalled east
of the district. The northwesterlies will diminish this evening as the
trough begins to move away. Marine interests are advised that gale
warnings are in effect for the Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Belle Isle, northeast gulf, Gulf-Port au
Port, and the southern Grand Banks. End FQCN10 CYQX 170530 Technical
marine synopsis for Newfoundland issued by Environment Canada at 3:00
a.m. NDT Tuesday 17 March 2009 for today tonight and Wednesday. The next
scheduled forecasts will be issued at 10:00 a.m. Systems position. At
3:00 a.m. NDT today quasi-stationary trough located east of the Marine
District. At 3:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located over the Maritimes. By
10:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday ridge located over southern Newfoundland. End
