Judging by a couple postings I've seen on the net, it looks like the
Georgian Bay ARC will be running both HF and 6 meters from the Cabot
Head Lighhouse in semi-rare grid EN95.
This will be part of their participation in the 14th Annual
International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend event. The event starts
at 0001 UTC on August 20th and ends 2359 UTC on August 21, 2011.
This lighthouse is located roughly 15 miles east of Tobermory
Ontario in the Cabot Head Provincial Nature Reserve on the shores
of Lake Huron. This lighthouse is ILLW CA00032 or ARLHS CAN 067 and
located in EN95IF.
Not exactly sure on callsign in use, but suspect it will probably be
the club call of VE3OSR or possibly Adam VE3IZS.
Good opportunity to snag a 6m grid that (depending on who you ask) is
rare to semi-rare. While the 6m "easy season" is winding down fast
now, let's hope propagation cooperates.
