The season this year was the worst I can remember for these parts, though
I believe the Eastern States had some good SIX and TWO metre openings.
They did not occur here.
I totalled about a dozen contacts with the Eastern States roughly half on
each band over the seasonal period. Nothing more.
TWO suffered from a lack of highs in the Great Australian Bight, essential
for tropo propagation between Albany and the East.
Sporadic E was present on SIX on most days over the past two months, as
indicated by the frequent appearance of VK5RBV the beacon in the Barossa
Valley, but contacts did not eventuate. There were occasional appearances
of VK8RAS at Alice Springs, but there is no amateur activity from there.
