Gang:
I am trying to set up my laptop for use with my rig for portable use for
ARES and FD etc.
I have a new Dell Inspiron 1501 with AMD Athlon 64(x2) dual core
1 meg of ram and 120GB hd.
I am using a Signalink SL-1 to the computer using the microphone and speaker
jacks on the computer.
On receive for APRS and PSK etc it works flawlessly, but on transmit I think
I am getting maybe some RF back through the cables (they are shielded
cables).
Anyone else have this issue and any way around it like maybe filters between
the jacks and plugs on computer.
Thanks
Fred

Hi Chris,
There is as far as i am aware no place to go to check your
setup, everyone has a similar setup but there are always differneces.
You are best to work with your neighbours on this.
I use FINDU and the other servers to check stations but this only
tell you if you are getting heard and also some error checking.
As to the Green/red indicators :
When you connect to an Internet server these 6 green indicators
appear, The top row is for frames other than local messages, the
bottom row is for local messages. In each row one indicators is for
each time period. They will turn red if the limit for the time period
is exceeded. The Statistics window shows how many frames your system
has gated and how many have been dropped because the limits were
exceeded
Check your Inet_TO_RF_LIMITS ( IGATE.INI file set them to default
as per the help file decreasing the numbers in the 1st block is not
advisable.

*** i shut it all down and got the tray icon info to match the IND
NOR 01 thats in the underlay control panel list. I briefly saw the
option for looping and clicked it,but cant see any looping action.
I think it is better than it was,and i will keep tinkering with it.
Im learning more and more about it the more i play with it and read
the help over.
Thanks Robbie
