Well, I still seem to be having an issue with either PMap Server6 or PM
v6.0. I run the same configuration at home as I do on my laptop, and the
only place this is occurring is on the laptop.

When I launch UI-View (of course) the maps begin to display, and I am
prompted to register one of the programs. (I cannot tell which because I
haven’t pursued it quite that far yet, but I will the next time it occurs.)
I enter the same registration number I have received in the past and all is
well again. Why does this keep prompting me for the registration code?

If you are using the same registration number for both the home computer
and your laptop, it may be that one of the two programs is not accepting
the home computers registration number on the laptop. I do not begin to
understand how the registration number is arrived at by Chicago Mapping
/ Undertow; but I do know they seem to be machine specific.

Do you have separate registration numbers for each computer?

Do you have a separate registration number for Pmap 6.0 and for
PmapServer6 for each computer?

If you do have the correct registration numbers, it may be your
installation has not gone correctly. I would uninstall the programs and
then reinstall everything, being certain you follow precisely the order
of installation in the directions. The order and the requirement for
rebooting between individual installs must be done correctly. There is
not room for freelancing the install with this combination of software.
It is not plug and play, it requires user awareness to complete
successfully.

Like Ron said, re-register (if you haven't kept the registration
details from your previous installation, e.g. on an email printout).
Registration is free of charge now; read the information on Andy's
page. (info in the footer of the message)

W2DLO has a TCPIP connection to APRSFL, last heard 7 minutes ago. It
claims to be a UI-View based weather station. When I looked the other
day, it was heard on RF, not via TCPIP. Presumably you have it running
on RF as well as having the TCPIP connection? Possibly not. It doesn't
show any RF path.

I did some digging and found the status page for APRSFL at
http://aprsfl.net:14501/. I see that you are connected on port 10152.
According to the top of the page...

APRSfl can no longer provide unlimited full-feed service,
     see http://www.aprsfl.net/aprs-is.html for details. Stations
continuing to use port 10152 on aprsfl.net will get submitted
data into the APRS-IS network, but objects only within 350km
of your station will be sent to you by default.

Well, you could change to port 14580 and specify a filter, but that's
got nothing to do with "not seeing stations from RF". You have a filter
of "m/350" entered, but I don't think that will make any difference
whatsoever while you are connected to APRSFL:10152 as that isn't a
filtered port. So... back to "no stations on RF".

Are you using a software/soundcard based TNC? I guess they work. I've
always used a hardware based TNC. No matter whether you are using
software/soundcard or a TNC, what do you see in the terminal window?
Click on OPTIONS - FILTER and EXCLUDE INTERNET TRAFFIC so you will only
see RF traffic. Are you seeing stations showing up there, but they
aren't showing up on the map?

Again, control F5 will toggle "show symbols on map" and you have already
checked the exclude/exclude list and it is disabled.

Back in the main window... click on LISTS and then on DIRECT STATIONS.
Hmmm... I guess that would only show stations heard direct and not
stations heard via digis. Whatever... do any stations show in your
station list at all? You could just disconnect from APRSFL or whatever
server you are currently connected to, delete all stations and watch the
station list and see if any show up via RF.

Questions... are you receiving any stations via RF? Do they show on the
station list? Do they show on your map? Guess they aren't on the map or
you wouldn't be saying no stations were showing. Isolate the problem.
Are you receiving stations but they aren't being displayed, or are you
just not receiving any stations?
