.... happens when I click on anything on a map. A window now pops up that says "Your home location will be set to:- (geographic coodinates I just clicked here) Confirm that this is correct.", followed by yes and no buttons. This now happens whether I'm clicking on another station, an object or any place on the map.

In the 7+ years I've used UI-View 32, this has never happened before. This just started happening today. I have made no changes in settings. My home coodinates are still entered in the station setup window. Does anyone have an idea why this is coming up and how to stop it?

Your HOME key is stuck down.

Home + Click sets your station location.

One option is that StickyKeys has been enabled (a Windows function to help
keyboard use for those without the dexterity to press two keys at once) as
this will "toggle" the key press-on press-off, rather than a momentary
action.

Hi,
It's not the Home key on your keyboard stuck down is it.

This is how you set your home position. eg Hold down Home Key and double
click on map.

Just a thought.

What you are describing would be a normal condition if you were to hold
the HOME key down and double-click on the map to set a new location. Any
chance the HOME key is stuck down on your keyboard? Try pressing the
HOME key a few times in case it is mechanical. Do you have another
keyboard you could try?

Stephen;
Could it happen that something is pressing down your Home key?

2. Problems... HELP!

Kenwood D700a, KISS mode, last version of UiView.

Set-ups were correct because it used to work...

but now eveytime I beacon or try to send message the STA indicator
blinks and no signal is being transmitted.

Hard reset of transceiver did not help.

Both the radio and Ui-View seem to receive rf signals just fine. So the
computer is talking to the radio.

What do I look for and how do I fix this?

Thanks gang for the tip! I don't know how the home key got stuck; The key itself wasn't down. I dropped the keyboard a couple times and it seemed to do the trick. :)

4a. UI-NWS problems
Posted by: "That Hippie Guy" dsrpiper@yahoo.com dsrpiper

When I get a weather warning on UI-NWS, the map will flicker a bit, the
shape file will load , showing the area of the warning, then it will
disappear. I know the shape files are all loaded in the right spot and
I've gone over the settings several times, but I can't see any reason
why the warnings drop away like that. Does anyone know how to fix this.
I'm running UI-View32 on a Sony Laptop, windows 98, through the sound
card to a Singna-Link interface.
Thanks

Closely check your date and time on the computer. If it's significantly off,
UIV might be thinking the event has expired and take it off the map.

Please see <http://www.apritch.myby.co.uk/uiv32.htm> for UI-View registration information.
Precision Mapping version 8 works with UI-View32; the necessary additional PMapServer7 is available for download at <http://www.ui-view.org>.
At <http://wa8lmf.net/aprs/UIview_Notes.htm>, you will find useful hints and info for your UI-View setup and use.
