Rick,
Thanks for the reply. Neither of the suggestions fixed the problem.

I checked in the exclusions tab and nothing is selected yet I still
only get stuff in the North East.

In Setup - APRS Server Setup:
Which are/is your selected APRS server(s)?
Do you have an extra logon text entered? If yes, which?
(and I take it that you have entered you validation number)

At present Tony has a validated connection with KC2CWT-JS,
which in terms is connected to FIRST with the filter
r/41.449666666666665/-73.6625/200 -b/CW*.
No wonder that he gets only a very limited amount of beacons.

Tony, change your server and select a filter according to your needs.

I attempted to connect to aprsfl.net:10152 with nothing in the extra
log on text. I never had to enter anything before. Normally I would
connect and get all data. Not it is just limited to the North East.
That is not doing me to much good at the moment.

Yes, now you are connected to aprsfl.net:10152 and this gives you
a filter of m/350, as you can see on the status page
http://aprsfl.net:14501/

aprsfl.net does no more provide a full feed on port 10152.

Re: Expand My View Of Stations Beyond The North East Posted by: "Tony" n2ki@amsat.org n2ki Date: Sat Dec 8, 2007 4:14 am ((PST)) Gerhard, Thank you for explaining. I was unaware that different connection ports gave different filters. This answers a lot of questions. Anthony N2KI --- In ui-view@yahoogroups.com, Gerhard <f5vag.eu@...> wrote:

Now that the port is figured out, why does the server keep
disconnecting me after a minute or so. I get a message from UIView to
 "Wait two minutes until reconnect".

With your connection to port 10154 you get the full North America
feed which has a much higher bandwidth than the other feed.
If your PC can't keep pace with the received data rate, the server
disconnects you.
This happens often when UI-View does a screen refresh which
keeps your PC too busy to receive the data from the server.

I'd think that you can't find the ham callsign.
It's IMHO a way to exclude oneself when the message is not signed by
the originator's callsign.
But you could try to reply to that "callsign", of course. Best via
port I, 'cause you can't be sure it's a radio amateur station at all.

Do you happen to be near Flagstaff, AZ? The reason I ask is that FGZ is the 3-letter designator used for the
Flagstaff NWS Office. WSW is the 3-letter designation for a Winter weather message bulletin.
These as well as other NWS information are sometimes ported to the RF portion of APRS by IGATEs to
alert Skywarn spotters and others of certain events of concern and often have a posit of the
'center of concern', or the middle point of the plot of the watch/warning/advisory.
I suspect this isn't someone hiding their identy, and replying to the sender is fruitless as the
sender doesn't exist, but the sender id is formatted such that the original content and origin of the
message can be verified. i.e. If the sender of the message was DTXSVR, I would question the message validity
if the message was about a tidal surge in Tampa Bay (DTX is the Detroit, MI NWS and SVR is a Severe
Thunderstorm Warning). 73, Randy WF5X AEC - Oakland Co. MI ARPSC/RACES/SKYWARN

I'm sure this has probably been discussed before but I am unable to get the search engine
here to do anything useful. Somehow I have lost the text input areas on both my Terminal and Message windows.
Searching the help files has not been fruitful.
